Shahwar Akbar is a founder lawyer of OWS Law. He was called to the bar of Ontario in 2017 after completing his LLB Hons. at the University of Wales in the United Kingdom. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Philosophy and Psychology. He articled with Ryerson University’s General Counsel Office through the Law Practice Program in 2016.
Shahwar Akbar is an experienced real estate lawyer who has been practicing since 2017, specializing in both residential and commercial real estate law. With a robust background in negotiating with builders and lenders, Shahwar has successfully helped hundreds of clients navigate complex real estate transactions, saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars. His expertise extends to preparing and negotiating Agreements of Purchase and Sale and handling the intricacies of commercial mortgage financing, and managing estate planning and corporate affairs.
Shahwar is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Canadian Muslims Lawyers’ Association. Beyond his legal prowess, Shahwar enjoys playing cricket, traveling the world, golfing, swimming, and has a passion for reading and writing.
